Lambeth does not have a local history museum, something TVS is working on, but there is TVS’s online local history archive – and now, recording on film and sound, ‘Vauxhall Memories’.

This is an oral history project that TVS’s Gabriel Gbadamosi has devised and is delivering for Vauxhall Gardens Community Centre, Capital Community Foundation and Lady Margaret Hall Settlement.

The idea for Vauxhall Memories originated with Bob Henderson of VGCC’s Wednesday Bingo Club. Gabriel’s chosen theme for this first stage of the Vauxhall Memories project is food, with filming at VGCC over Afternoon Teas and a Christmas Feast.

Special guests have included or will include Vauxhall City Farm, Roots and Shoots and the funder of Vauxhall Memories, Covent Garden Market Authority.

A Vauxhall Memories exhibition and DVD are to follow.
