IMPACT, the residents’ association for SW8’s Meadow Road, Palfrey Place, Ashmole Street, Claylands Road and Place and Trigon Road, is urging people to attend two special, but hitherto little-publicised, meetings on 23 and 25 May for those whose homes are in the path of tunnelling and ventilation shaft construction for the proposed Northern Line extension from Kennington to Nine Elms and Battersea.
Most people, IMPACT says, are unaware that the developers, Treasury Holdings, are holding two special meetings specifically for residents of properties directly affected, meetings which are different from the public exhibitions currently advertised.
Streets directly affected include Clayland, Fentiman and Meadow Roads.
The two special meetings are at 7pm on Monday 23 May, Ashmole Estate Tenants Hall, 2 Meadow Road SW8 1NB, and at 7 pm Wednesday 25 May at Wheatsheaf Community Centre,Wheatsheaf Lane, SW8 2UP
Despite Treasury Holdings’ publicity to the contrary, it’s not clear that the route of the Northern Line extension has in fact been decided. ‘Given the seriously faulty ‘consultation’ process and the negative impact of these proposals, a robust response to the Treasury Holdings project team is indicated so do make every attempt to attend one of these two meetings.
‘We do not know who Trasury Holdings has deemed to be ‘directly affected’ and so sent a letter of invitation.’
